Today is the start of National Careers Week

This morning I hosted the launch of National Careers Week in the House of Commons. This brilliant initiative aims to help young people to access the information they need to move into their chosen career.

As we know, youth unemployment is still high and this government are not giving young people the support they need to fulfil their potential.

National careers week aims to change this by giving young people the support and guidance they need and bringing them together with employers and advisors so they can access the careers that are right for them.

It also seeks to encourage young people from lower income families to see the opportunities that are available to them so they can have a promising future.

I wish all young people in Hull West and Hessle a fantastic future and hope you get involved with this excellent initiative.
