FCC Waste Transfer Station Willerby proposal

Following leaflets distributed by FCC Environment to residents in Willerby and Kirk Ella announcing plans for a new Waste Transfer Station, I contacted both FCC and the Environment Agency for more information and to understand exactly what is being proposed.

I understand the concerns that residents have about this announcement, and I will continue to press for clear communication on the plans and to ensure that the concerns of residents are heard.

No planning application has yet been submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council. FCC’s current consultation is an opportunity for residents to raise questions and concerns before any application is made. It does not replace the formal public consultation that would follow if a planning application were submitted.

The facility would also require an environmental permit from the Environment Agency. The EA has  indicated that, if it considers the development to be of High Public Interest, it could hold its own public consultation. I will continue to support residents and advocate for them should a formal planning application be submitted.

If you live in Willerby or Kirk Ella, I strongly encourage you to take part in FCC Environment’s consultation. It is important that residents make their voices heard on what happens in their area. Fill in the consultation at https://willerby.fccenvironment.co.uk/ or email north@consultation-online.co.uk Consultation closes October 8.
