The Pride in Place programme is off to a fantastic start, with major progress made over the last month.
Following an open recruitment process, every local resident was invited to apply to join the Pride in Place Board. After receiving applications from across the community, board members have now been selected. The board is made up predominantly of local residents, alongside a small number of people who work or volunteer in the area, ensuring local voices are at the heart of decision-making.
The board has also held its first meeting. While much of the discussion focused on the essential administrative processes needed to get the programme up and running, the groundwork has now been laid for the exciting work ahead.
The next step is all about listening. Board members will be out in the community speaking with local residents about how they would like to see the £20 million investment spent across Boulevard and St Andrews. The message is simple: if local people don’t want it, it won’t happen.
This is a real opportunity for residents to help shape the future of their area and influence how this significant investment is used to make a lasting difference.
Keep an eye out for upcoming engagement events and opportunities to share your views. Together, we can make sure this investment reflects the priorities, ambitions and ideas of the people who call Boulevard and St Andrews home.
