Emma Hardy MP, in collaboration with HU4 Community Hub, was thrilled to host the Great Get Together family fun day, which took place on Saturday, 21st June from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dragon Park, Boothferry Estate, Hull. The event was filled with activities, entertainment, and community spirit—completely free and open to everyone.
Sponsored by local businesses Hull Fibre and Wykelands, the event offered free pizza and smoothies, craft stalls, a football skill camp by Tiger’s Trust, a fire engine tour, and live music, making it a brilliant day for all who attended. The aim was to bring people together, celebrate the strength of the local community, and ensure accessibility for everyone.
Emma Hardy MP shared her enthusiasm during the event, saying:
“Bringing the community together is incredibly important, and I was so pleased to host this event on Boothferry Estate. The community here is strong, and it was brilliant to be able to show that off.
Jo’s message that we have more in common than that which divides us is as important now as it was when she said it in 2016, so I was looking forward to bringing the community together to celebrate that.”
Terry Sullivan, co-founder of HU4 Community Hub, also emphasised the significance of the event for the local area:
“People from this part of Hull often feel left behind, so putting on events like this for the local community is extremely important. Ensuring it was accessible by making the event free was also vital. We wanted everyone to feel welcome and included.”
The day at Dragon Park was a joyful celebration of unity, food, and fun—bringing smiles to faces and strengthening community bonds.
