Biowise meeting update

Following the liaison meeting last week I thought I would share the following.

Wastewise and the Environment Agency will be working on proposals for the second round of monitoring this summer, following the report on the results of last year’s monitoring. It is expected to take place over the same time period of July and August.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council Environmental Control will be reopening their Survey123 live portal which will allow the public to alert them if the smell has become offensive. They will get an officer out to the reported area as soon as one is available. I will let you know when it goes live and how to access it, but they expected it to be June.

There was discussion about the best way to get all complaints in the same place, and the possibility of a ‘local portal’ for the Environment Agency. The contact for complaints to EA remains telephone on 0800 80 70 60 or email incident_communication_service@environment-agency.gov.uk

Wastewise said they were happy to receive reports on any issues of concern to residents through their Contact Us form https://www.wastewise.co.uk/contact/ This sends an email to senior management members and will be actioned from there. They also have a community information page https://www.wastewise.co.uk/community-information/ and free compost is available for community groups or projects and schools. If you are interested get in touch with them at info@wastewise.co.uk
