The government has recently allocated significant funding to improve road infrastructure across East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull, addressing the pressing issue of potholes and road quality. East Riding of Yorkshire Council will receive £22,015,000, while Hull City Council has been awarded £4,482,000. This funding is aimed at ensuring safer and smoother roads for local communities and vehicles.
In an effort to ensure that the funding is directed where it is most needed, I have launched a survey to gather input from residents. The survey seeks to identify areas within both council areas where potholes and road conditions are a significant concern.
I am pleased that the government recognises the importance of addressing the challenges posed by poor road conditions in our community. The funding for both East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council is a welcome investment in our local infrastructure. However, it is crucial that the money is spent in the areas that will make the biggest impact for residents.
I hope this survey will give local people the opportunity to have their say on where the focus should be.
